Truncheons were lathe turned from blanks made from poplar. The blanks were made cylindrical using a roughing gouge and carved with a shaper. Small details were added with bowl gouge and a props craftsperson wrapped the handles in leather. Eight in total were made, with two made by the other carpentry apprentice and six made by myself.
